Jay Nygard, local Green Entrepreneur shows the power of combined micro-wind and solar systems to change the world right in his own backyard. Jay Nygard’s quiet micro-wind turbines and solar panels produce half of his spacious home’s energy needs year-round in a suburban/ urban setting.
The five-year legal battle to keep the largest of the wind turbines, resulted in 5 days in jail of a six-month sentence for failing to remove the non-visible concrete pilings. The ultimate removal of the turbine and later the pilings caused cracks to the foundation of the house. Jay and his wife were ordered to remove the largest of their turbines even though “…a 1995 Minnesota law gives any person in Minnesota the right to harvest the wind.”
The Nygards currently have three smaller turbines on their property and will continue to challenge local government so that they and others can produce their own clean energy .”It is worth it to stand up to Government because not everyone can”.
GoGreen micro-wind and solar systems offer clean energy and self-sufficiency to global-warming deniers and tree-huggers alike. Listen to the interview below.
